Thelma Edith Brock (née Parrott)

Thelma, born August 15, 1930, in Whitby, Ontario to Stella (née Ford) and Reginald Parrott, passed peacefully at the age of 91 with family by her side at Fairvern Nursing Home in the late hours of March 23, 2022, in Huntsville, Ontario.  She was a feminist, an artist, an entrepreneur, an avid reader, and a wonderful (great, grand)/mother. She was before her time in so many ways.

After attending Huntsville High School, Thelma studied at New York School of Design and then Letchford Studio of Fashion Careers in Toronto.  Thelma met her husband, Howard Brock Jr., through her work at Raubar Granite Co Inc, Detroit, Michigan. They were married May 29, 1953, in Indiana and raised three children together. Thelma followed her dream to design clothes, opening the Muskodeer Post Retail and Manufacturing outlet, selling custom leather clothing and goods of her own creation.  She was a registered international porcelain artist, an instructor of china painting and later manufactured and taught ceramics. Thelma was community minded as a Stephenson Ward Councillor, a Town of Huntsville planning board committee member and Trinity United Church choir member.

Pre-deceased by her husband Howard, brothers Ralph, Frank, George and her sister Violet.

Dearly missed by her sisters Marilyn (Keith) and Evelyn (Tom) and her children, Dennis (Wanda), Donna (Eric), and Deena (Andrew).  Loved boundlessly by her grandchildren Terri, Michael, Rebecca, Jason, Bernadette, Rory (deceased), Hino, Keelin, Quentin, and Chaney; great-grandchildren Andrea, Jessica, Alaina, Marissa, Cameron, Brock, Alexis, Cole, Jonathan, Brett, Lucas and Callum; great-great grandchildren Isabelle, CJ, Gabriella, and Olivia. She will be missed by countless friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Friday, April 8th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 9th at 11:00am with visitation prior to the service and a light lunch to follow, all at Billingsley Funeral Home.  Live streaming will be available for those unable to attend and can be accessed below in the service section entitled "click here to access the video",  to follow directions. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Fairvern Nursing Home or to CNIB would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. The family would like to thank Dr. Kent, Dr. Stephenson and the staff at Fairvern Nursing Home for their dedicated and loving care at the end of her journey.
