McGregor, James (Jim), passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 9th, 2019, in his 90th year with his loving wife Norma by his side. Norma and their six children: James (Paula), David (Yvonne), Mary (Eric), Rosanne (Doug), Tammy (Russell), and Paula, 16 grandchildren, (pre-deceased by one), and 10 great-grandchildren rest in the assurance that they will see him again in eternity. He was brother to Ellen (Dennis), Catherine (Jim)  and Judy (Elgin) and predeceased by brothers Jack (Helen) and Paul.

Jim was a devoted follower of Jesus, serving some years as a Pastor for Calvary Associated Gospel Church in Blind River, Wilson Avenue Baptist Church in Toronto and Calvary Baptist Church in Desbarats Ontario.  He then moved back to Toronto with his family where he worked as an electrician and dedicated his life to Christian ministry. He was the long time Organist and Choir Director (and later Visitation Pastor) at Wishing Well Acres Baptist Church in Agincourt (now GracePoint). After retirement he and Norma moved to their Muskoka waterfront home where Jim served at Riverside Baptist Church in Huntsville as Organist, pianist, church worker, and DVBS volunteer.

Jim loved all things musical, and all things Muskoka. He drove his boat on Mary Lake until the day his earthly body would not allow him to do so. He was known for playing all instruments from the organ to the accordion and everything in between. He had a zest for life: boating, waterskiing, photography, videography, and so much more. He mastered his interests and shared them with the world.

His never-ending love for his wife of 62 years Norma, his family, his work ethic, love for life and passion for Christ will be his legacy. Painfully missed but thankfully and gratefully appreciative of God’s gift of Jim McGregor to us, we remember him today and every day.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverside Baptist Church in Huntsville Ontario on Saturday August 31st with visitation from 1pm-3pm and service at 3pm with light refreshments to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bible League of Canada or a charity of choice.
