Erica Rosita (Gebhardt) Linger

LINGER, Erica Rosita (nee Gebhardt)

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital at the age of 92.  Beloved wife of the late Harvey Linger who predeceased Erica on February 15, 2006.  Born in Germany on April 22, 1929 to parents George and Rosita Gebhardt and would later immigrate to Canada.  Erica married Harvey on June 6, 1954 and would celebrate 51 years of marriage before Harvey's passing.  She is the loving mother of George and his wife Colleen and her late son John.  Grandmother of TJ (Kirsten), Tyler (Katie) and Kristina; great-grandmother of Gabriel, Violet, Lincoln, Alyssa, Brianna, Alexis and Skylar.  She is survived by her brothers Ludwig and Sebastian and sisters Lisa and Wilma.  Predeceased by siblings, Josef, Robert, Hans and Marie.  Erica will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family near and far.

Erica lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker and also worked in the manufacturing industry.  She was a wonderful cook and baker and would hold many family gatherings when given the opportunity.  Gardening was a passion  as was volunteering with the United Church Ladies Auxiliary and the Lions Club. It was her grandchildren and great-children that gave her the most joy and will be dearly missed by each of them.

Cremation has taken place.  A private family memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Billingsley Funeral Home in Huntsville.  A public service to remember Erica will be held at the Windermere United Church at a later date.  As an expression of sympathy memorial donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Messages of condolences can be left at www.billingsleyfuneralhome.com
