Winnifred “Gail” Gleadhill (nee Veitel)

It is with heartfelt sadness that we share the news of Gails passing, on Thursday October 16th, 2025 at Hospice Huntsville, surrounded by loved ones. Beloved Mother to Jeffery (Heather) of Bracebridge, and Melanie (Karl) of Huntsville. Cherished Grandmother to Savanna, Chase, Ella and Keaton.

Gail is survived by her younger sister Bonnie (John) of Sauble Beach, and will be greatly missed by her niece Laura (Vince) along with her great nephews and niece. She will also be deeply missed by the friends she considered family. Gail is predeceased by her parents William and Orkney Veitel and younger brother Larry (Bev) of Toronto.

Gail was born on June 9th, 1945 in Kitchener and moved to Toronto in 1952 at the age of 7. Gail graduated from Burnamthorpe Collegiate from the commercial course and entered into the work force. She lived and worked in Toronto for many years before marrying and moving to Newmarket. In 1987 Gail and her family moved to Huntsville and this is where she settled. In 1988 Gail started at Kimberly Clark and worked there until her retirement in 2009.

Gail loved spending time with her family and was very proud of her Grandchildren. In the summers you could find her at Sauble Beach better known to the family as the cottage. She was an avid crocheter and loved to play board games, If Gail was watching TV you could bet there was a game show on and she was playing along. But doing puzzles was her passion.

In Gails younger years she was very active as a foster parent and welcomed many children into her life and her home with so much love. She also had a love for tap dancing when she was a child and found it again when she became a Dance Mom, even entering the adult dance, in the year end recital. Gail was also an avid roller skater and before her move to Huntsville she could be found many a Saturday night at the roller rink in Richmond Hill. Gail had a passion for life and will be truly missed by everyone who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Friday October 24, 2025 from 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm at Billingsley Funeral Home in Huntsville, 430 Ravenscliffe Road, with a fellowship time to follow. Interment will be a private ceremony with family.

A special thank you to the Nurses and Doctors at the Huntsville Hospital and Hospice Huntsville

Donations came be made in Gails name to the Diabetic Foundation of Canada or to Hospice Huntsville.
