William "Bill" Rows

March 15, 1940 — July 11, 2023

Huntsville, Ontario

Albert, William (Bill) was born on March 15th, 1940, to parents Roy William Rows and Elva Marguerite (MacNaughton) in Meaford, Ontario. As a child he lived in Meaford, Agincourt and Kemble Ontario.

As a young adult he moved to Beeton, Ontario and worked at the Beeton Manor. It was there that he met his future wife, Ruth.

On August 20th, 1964, he married Ruth (Watson) in Everett, Ontario. The newlyweds relocated to Burlington, Ontario where Bill worked at Joseph Brant Hospital as an orderly before changing careers and working for Canada Post. During their time in Burlington, Ruth gave birth to their daughter LeeAnn and two years later their son Kevin. Not wanting to raise their young family in the city, Bill transferred to the Huntsville Post office as a front desk clerk. In Huntsville, Bill and Ruth welcomed their third child, a son Robert.

Bill worked at the Huntsville Post Office for 25 years before being offered early retirement. Bored with retirement, Bill worked many years at Eatons and later the Fairvern Nursing Home.

Once Bill finally retired, he spent most of his time gardening, reading, looking after his dogs (Callie and Patches), his cats (Toby and Izzie) and raising birds (chickens, ducks, doves, peacocks, geese, pigeons, and pheasants) on his mini farm. He also enjoyed more than the occasional cigarette. In 2013 Ruth passed away, but Bill continued to live on his mini farm until 2019 when he sold his home and moved into the Muskoka Hills Retirement Villa in Bracebridge, Ontario.

Bill passed away suddenly on July 11, 2023, at the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge, Ontario.

Left to mourn his passing are his children Lee-Ann Rand (Marvin) of Huntsville, Kevin Rows of Huntsville, Robert Rows of Oshawa. His grandchildren Amanda Woods, Jordan Rows, Kaleb Rand (Grace) and Saige Rand (Tylor) and great granddaughter Everlee Dunn. Also left to mourn his passing are his brother Stanley LeBeau (Suzanne) of Peterborough, his sisters Victoria Curry of Peterborough and Dianne (Ralph) Boyd of Bracebridge and his sister in-law Marie Allen of Huntsville as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Keeping with the families wishes there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and Bill's ashes will be placed alongside Ruth's at the Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Fairvern Nursing Home, Muskoka Hills Retirement Villa, or South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.
