William "Bill" Earl

EARL, William "Bill" Cecil December 14, 1922 - May 8, 2018 Passed away peacefully at Fairvern Nursing Home in Huntsville, Ontario, on May 8, 2018, in his 96th year. He is survived by his wife of 21 years Vera McGirr (Morrison). He was predeceased by his wife Betty in 1993. Father to Bill Jr. (predeceased) (Geri), Sandra (Wayne), Rob (Terry), Fred (Bev), Jim (Arlene) and Paul. Step-father to Myrna (the late Doug) and Ivan (Shirley). Grandfather to Melony (Randy), Joe (Keri), Tammy (Trevor), Katherine, Anthony, Edward, Christine (Frankie), Jeremy (Jami) and the late Jason. Great grandfather to Riley, Taylor, Owen, Olivea, Matthew, William, Trinity, Raina, Ian, Travis, Curtis and Patrick. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Ethel Earl and his siblings Bert, Fred, Mary, Stan, Elsie and Syd. Bill was raised in Aspdin, Ontario. He served in the Royal Canadian Signal Corps. during World War II. After the war, he was self-employed as a trucker and then as a painter & decorator. He was a life-long member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge, the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, Club 55 and Centennial Seniors. He loved music. Wherever there was a dance, you would find Bill. He called square dances throughout Muskoka & Parry Sound regions from the time he was young, until shortly before his death. The family will receive friends at the Billingsley Funeral Home in Huntsville, on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The funeral will be held at Billingsley Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Interment at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery, Huntsville. Pall bearers are sons Fred, Jim, Paul, Grandsons Jeremy & Frankie and Stepson Ivan. Honourary Pall bearers are son Rob, son-in-law Wayne, grandsons Randy, Joe, Trevor, Edward, Anthony and great grandsons Matthew & William. In memory donations to Fairvern Nursing Home or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
