Wilhelm Ludwig Roth

Wilhelm Ludwig Roth passed away of natural causes on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Huntsville, Ontario. He was born on April 30, 1929, in Nauheim, Germany.  K

Known as Bill or Willy to his friends, he was an adventurous, courageous, and strong-minded family man whose journey spanned across two nations and multiple occupations.

In his youth, he loved playing his violin, classical music, soccer, and reading. He also learned and practiced various trades, including being a butcher and dental technician. In Germany, he married his childhood sweetheart Emmy and started a family.

At 26, he courageously immigrated to Canada to give his young family a better life. In Canada, he worked as a piano tuner, dental technician, and carpenter. He found his passion in carpentry, building and supervising the creation of numerous homes, schools, and commercial structures.

Wilhelm was an independent force of nature, always moving, thinking, and ready for a lively discussion. He was a compassionate man who enjoyed venturing out for a stroll, listening to classical music, watching sports, and reading. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his three children, Gerhard, Ann, and Wendy, as well as seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife.

As per his wishes, a private family service will be held in his memory.

Memorial donations can be made in honor of Wilhelm to your local food bank or shelter.
