HORNBY, Shelby Anne

After a short illness Shelby peacefully left this world surrounded by the love of her family on October 28, 2019 in her 62nd year.  Shelby was born in Sudbury, Ontario and was the daughter of Neil and Alice (Armstrong) Hornby.

Pre-deceased by her loving husband, Bill van Stygeren.  Shelby was the beloved mother of Ian (Brittney).   Shelby, Bill and Ian successfully ran Gryffin Lodge, creating memories together and for others for more than 30 years.

Shelby will be deeply missed by her siblings Kim and her husband Darryl, Jeff and his wife Laura, Tom and his wife Darlene, Kimmie, nieces, nephews and extended family.  The loss of friendship will be deeply felt by “The Girls” - but the memories will last forever.

Shelby will be remembered for her kind, gentle and loving nature.  She was supportive to all and always optimistic.  She loved her garden, feeding the chickadees and enjoyed everything that nature had to offer.

The family would like to thank the Huntsville Palliative Care Team, Closing the Gap, Dr. Allison Small and Jaunita.
