Sharon Elizabeth Wallace

With deep love and heavy hearts, we share the passing of Sharon Elizabeth Wallace on August 29, 2025, at Algonquin Grace Hospice in Huntsville.

Born on May 25, 1960, Sharon spent her formative years in London, Ontario where she met her best friends Anita & Paul Gleeson. In 1999, she and her family made Muskoka their home, where she built a life filled with community, family, and adventure. In recent years, she enjoyed her retirement between Huntsville and Sun City Center, Florida.

Sharon’s professional career was as dynamic as she was. She began in IT support and development at Hamilton Computers, where she met her husband, Steve. She went on to lead IT and customer support as Vice-President at Oracle Canada, and later served as CIO of GE Capital Technology Services. After leaving the corporate world, Sharon & Steve ran Muskoka Office Plus together for 10 years before retiring.

Her passion for giving back was boundless. Sharon was an involved member of the Rotary People of Action Huntsville Club, organized the Muskoka Kids Triathlon for over 10 years, and served as a volunteer captain with the Ironman 70.3 Muskoka. She traveled with Rotary to New Zealand, Zambia, the Philippines, Cambodia, and the Dominican Republic for international service projects and exchanges. She also served on parent councils, taught falls prevention classes for seniors with VON, and embraced new challenges in retirement, learning the saxophone and performing with the Muskoka Concert Band and the Eastern Hillsborough Community Band.

Always highly competitive, Sharon brought her determination and energy into everything she did. She was a long-distance runner in her younger years, inspiring her daughters to take up half and full marathons. She and Steve traveled the world on cycling tours, often riding over 100 km a day, in Croatia, Italy, Thailand, and Vietnam. She was an avid golfer, pickleball player, road cyclist, and hiker; always in motion and always striving.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, Steve Meadley, and her daughters, Kyla Meadley Martinez (Jon) and Heather Fattore (Stephen). She is survived by her siblings, Deb (Kurt), David, Stewart (Colleen), and Stephen (Maggie). She was predeceased by her parents, Edna and Jack Wallace, and is now reunited with her dear pup, Sawyer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club in Bracebridge, where Sharon was a proud member for over 35 years and a former club champion, on Saturday, September 27th. Friends and family are invited to drop in between 2:00–5:00 p.m., with speeches beginning around 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Huntsville at https://www.justgiving.com/page/sharon-wallace in Sharon’s Memory would be deeply appreciated in thanks for the compassionate care she received. Her family will match all contributions to the Hospice. Donations to The Rotary Foundation Canada at https://my.rotary.org/en/donate an organization close to Sharon’s heart, are also welcomed.

Sharon’s legacy of strength, adventure, and wholehearted living will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
