Shannon George Pierce

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Shannon George Pierce, taken from us far too soon on December 16, 2025. His family is heartbroken beyond words by this unforeseen loss, and his absence will be felt forever.

Shannon is lovingly survived by his children, Meagan (Jeremy) and Douglas, and by his devoted common-law spouse, Bonnie, who loved him unconditionally for many years.

Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, on April 15, 1965 Shannon was the son of Ruby and Gerald Pierce (both predeceased). From a young age, he was an avid Saskatchewan Roughriders fan and enjoyed playing both football and hockey. In his earlier years, he moved to Fort McMurray, where, while working at Zellers, he met the mother of his children, Bridget Kayla Garon.

In 1997, Shannon relocated to Huntsville, continuing his career with Zellers. Spending time with family and helping raise his children became the centre of his world.

Shannon met Bonnie in 2007, and together they shared 18 years of partnership and adventure. While working for The North West Company, they travelled throughout Manitoba and Ontario, learning about different cultures and communities. Shannon loved bringing his family into nature—many summers were spent camping at Arrowhead Provincial Park, sharing stories around the fire pit with classic rock playing in the background.

After returning to Huntsville, Shannon worked at FreshCo until his passing.

He was predeceased by his older brother, Barrie, who passed in 2021. Shannon also leaves behind his sisters, Sharleen (Darryl) and Heather (Connie), his brother Craig (Susan), as well as his nieces Blair and Berri, and nephews Elias and Gage.

He also leaves behind many extended family members, including those of the Ross Family, as well as coworkers-former and current, friends across the country and two well loved kittens-Melas and Izzy who already miss him immensely.

Shannon will live on through the many photos, memories, and stories shared by those who loved him. He was full of life, love, laughter, and adventure—leaving behind a legacy that encourages his children, and all who knew him, to live life unrelentingly, without regret, and full of passion.

Oh! ye'll take the high road and

I'll take the low road,

And I'll be in Scotland afore ye;

But me and my true love

Will never meet again

On the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.
