Sandra (Sam) was born March 18, 1964 to Allen & Pearl Wedgewood of 3157 Etude Dr. Malton, ON. The youngest of 5 siblings to Wayne (deceased) & June, Laura & Barry, Gary & Heike, Debbie (deceased) & Ernie.
Sandra is survived by her husband Chris, stepson Macissac, along with all her nieces and nephews.
Sam grew up in Malton where she would attend Morning Star high school and would later have a 20 plus year career with Sears. Later in life she also worked for Muskoka Landing in Huntsville and then her final job being with the Township of Lake of Bays.
She loved the game of hockey and forever will be known as a die hard Philly fan. Sam spent many winters in cold arenas watching and cheering on her brother and then her nephews & niece playing the game.
Sandra also loved her music. From her favourite rock bands such as Led Zeppelin and Bon Jovi to her country favourites Reba and Garth Brooks. She would always be singing along around the campfire or holding the mic when the karaoke was brought out, always saying how she missed her chance at making it big in Nashville.
Sandra found the love of her life with her husband Chris Draycott of 19 years. They lived together in their home on Lake of Bays where Sam spent many summers and weekends with her family as it was once known as the cottage.
They spent their time together doing many renovation projects around the property. Tending to vegetable gardens and endless grass cutting. From feeding the chipmunks to throwing horseshoes & hot summer swims in the lake, Sam and Chris could usually be found at the bonfire with a drink after work. Winters were spent standing around the bonfire with friends and watching their favourite TV shows like The Voice, Master Chef and reruns of Reba and The Golden Girls.
On Friday September 5, 2025, Sandra passed away peacefully with her family by her side. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation - Oncology at https://huntsvillehospitalfoundation.ca/donate in lieu of flowers, would be greatly appreciated by her family.
With respect to Sandra's wishes, there will be no funeral service or celebration of life.
