Roderick Kirk Roberts

November 27, 1948 – May 12, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roderick Kirk Roberts, who departed peacefully at his home in Utterson, Ontario, on May 12, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born on November 27, 1948, in Novar, Ontario, Rod lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep loyalty, and enduring love for his family. On December 10, 1970, he married his beloved wife, Elizabeth Susan (Bette) Roberts (née Chegahno), in Emsdale, Ontario. She was the Prom Queen—his Prom Queen—and their marriage of over five decades was a true partnership built on respect, commitment, and love.

Rod was a man of many passions. He took to the skies with joy in his cherished Cessna 150, and on the ground, few things matched his admiration for his 1966 Ford Mustangs, of which he proudly owned two over the years. But above all, he found his greatest joy in family—especially in doting over his granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Roberts, who brought light to his days and a sparkle to his eyes.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife Bette, his sister Linda (Bruce) Trimble, his sons Kirk Roberts and Craig Roberts (Tina Chatillon), and his granddaughter Emily. Rod’s steady presence, thoughtful words, and loving heart will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Utterson Community Hall, 32 Township Hall Rd, Utterson, Ontario.

Roderick’s spirit lives on in every life he touched, in the stories we share, and in the skies and open roads he loved so well. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
