Bob Bainbridge, age 79, of Huntsville, Ontario, passed away suddenly on July 19, 2025, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Bainbridge, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Bob is survived by his three devoted daughters: Lori de Peuter (Chris de Peuter), Leah Cameron (Ian Cameron), and Taira Bainbridge (Randy Speicher); and six adored grandchildren Brett, Josh, and Chad de Peuter, Kyle and Connor Cameron, and Amelia Bainbridge who brought him immense pride and joy.
He is also survived by his five siblings: Harvey Bainbridge (Betty Bainbridge), Gerald Bainbridge (the late Joan Bainbridge), Evelyn Harrell, Carl Bainbridge, and Doug Bainbridge (Karen Bainbridge). He was preceded in death by his sibling, the late Goldie MacDonald (the late Ernie MacDonald).
Bob will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his unmistakenly vibrant character. Never one to hold back his thoughts, Bob’s bold spirit, quick wit, and larger-than-life presence left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He enjoyed traveling, sitting by a campfire, dancing, reading, watching the business channel, going to the Legion, spending time with friends, and day trips to Algonquin Park with his wife Joan. Bob was best known for his 20 years as the owner of Popp’s in the Huntsville Place Mall. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Road, Huntsville.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Billingsley Funeral Home with the burial to follow at All Saints Anglican Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Huntsville.
