Peggy Joan Iva Ashby (nee Ennest)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, Peggy Joan Iva Ashby, on September 16, 2025 at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital at the age of 82.  Peggy was the loving wife of Donald Ashby who predeceased her in 2005.

Peggy was a loving mother to her two girls, Brenda (Todd) and Dawn (Steve). Grandma to Jerith (Bri), Fletcher, Tyler (Vanessa), Alex (Haylee) and Aurora. Great-grandmother to Autumn, Robin, James and Noah.

Dear sister to Bryan, Sheryl, Pamela and Shelby Jean (predeceased). Special aunt to Gary, Jessica (Barry), Kristin and Emily (Jamie). Great Aunt to Logan. Peggy will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peggy worked at Huntsville Hospital for 37 years. She always took summers off for family trips to B.C or to visit any trading posts, parks or events she was comfortable driving to.

Peggy enjoyed crocheting and was rarely seen without a book in her hands. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially at the joy group at Riverside Baptist Church. She always looked forward to the first Friday of the month, as she got to reconnect with old friends and make many new ones. She loved talking to her sister-in-law Donna on the phone for hours.

The family welcomes you to join them in celebrating Peggy’s life at Riverside Baptist Church,11 Riverside Dr, Huntsville on Saturday, October 18, 2025, beginning at 1:00 pm.
