Patricia Monica Warren

Patricia Monica Warren (née Brown), wife of 61 years to (William) “Les” Warren (predeceased 2017), “Super Pat” to her children Rob (Joan), Lesley, Deb (Doug), and Jennifer (Ilana), and beloved Grandma to Rebecca, Leo and Charlie, died peacefully in Huntsville Hospice on the evening of June 1st, surrounded by family.

Born in Bournemouth, England, in the summer of 1934, Patsy’s striking beauty was recognized early by the judging panel of the “Best Baby of Bournemouth” competition. She started school with the advent of the Second World War – and with her books and lunch she would carry a gas mask to school every day. Pat met Les Warren as a teenager. She would strap parts of his drum kit to her bicycle and help him get to gigs with his jazz band.

Pat travelled the world with small children, following her Royal Navy husband to his postings and finally to Canada where the family settled in Utterson in the late 1970s, running the Pump and Barrel restaurant and Muskoka Flag Inn – and in later years, the “Friendly Knees” tennis club. Her great joys in life were her plants, her cats and her library books – though tennis was her ultimate passion. The week before she passed, she was still watching the French Open.

She will be greatly missed by her beloved "fur grandchildren," Isobel, Major, and Russell.

She lived to 91 years and 10 months, with a zest for life that never diminished, and a quick, sparkling wit that delighted all around her. She spent her last hours looking forward to being reunited with her soul mate, Les.

Pat did not want any “fuss and bother” when she passed, so there will be no funeral service. Her ashes will be laid to rest beside Les, with her family around her.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Huntsville Hospice would be appreciated by the family as a thank-you for the exceptional grace they demonstrated both to her, and to Les when he passed nine years ago.
