Patricia Ann Bowen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Bowen (Mills) at home surrounded by her family, on November 8, 2022 at the age of 74.  She was predeceased by her mother Gladys Mills and brother Bill Mills.

She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered her husband Robert, and by her daughters Kim (Kevin), Debbie (Pat) and her grandchildren Kyle (Ciara), Josh, Rachelle, brother David (Doris) and her nieces and nephew.

Patricia was a kind, thoughtful woman who touched everyone in a special way.  She was an active community member, a founding member of the Huntsville Lioness, and member of the Royal Canadian Legion.  She was dedicated and hard working throughout her entire life.  She volunteered at numerous events in the community.  She was recognized by the Province of Ontario with the Ontario Volunteer Service Award for her longstanding volunteerism. Patricia was always willing to help others and putting others first to help them excel in their endeavours.  She was a proud mother and grandmother, always encouraging education as a priority. One of her many accomplishments was when she returned to school to obtain her High School diploma at the age of 50. She was a roll model for her daughters and a true inspiration to all who knew her.

Thank you to Dr Allison Small, Dr Sanjay Jindal and the many nurses and doctors who have provided care at both Huntsville Hospital and RVH over the last 3 years.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life dedicated to Patricia at the Novar Community Centre, 25 Laurie Street, Novar on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 1 - 4 PM, a private family internment will be held in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Huntsville Hospital Foundation.

The beauty of a memory

Is that it’s always there.

Like a penny in your pocket,

You can take it anywhere.

And when your heart is heavy

And your eyes are filled with tears,

You can focus on a memory,

And travel through the years.

Your heart can visit happy times,

When laughter filled the air,

And the presence of your loved one,

Will lessen your despair.

So, as you travel on in life,

Take comfort as you go,

In a lifetime of “sweet memories,”

Of one who loved you so!
