Norman Leonard Parker, born April 26, 1933, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026, at Muskoka Landing Long Term Care. He was 92 years old.
Norman was a respected figure in the Muskoka community, known for his dedication to charitable causes and local business. Among his proudest accomplishments was his instrumental role in bringing the Shriners Clown Unit to Muskoka, an initiative that blended his passions for community service and joyful outreach. Prior to this, he was the owner of The Variety Shop on Main Street, where he cultivated strong ties with residents and contributed to the town's local economy.
A long-standing Mason, Norman followed in his mother's footsteps in fraternal service. He was a committed member of the Masonic community, sharing in the values and traditions reflected in the rituals and symbols common to these organizations. His involvement demonstrated a lifelong dedication to charity and fellowship.
Norman is survived by his children: Raymond (Michelle), Lawrence (Patricia), and Carole (Joe). He was a cherished grandfather to Sarah, Keren, Emily, and Noelle, and a great-grandfather to Taylor, Xander, Brenna, Nathan, and Griffin. His family was central to his life and legacy, reflecting the deep bonds he fostered throughout his years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 72 years, Shirley Parker (née Kelly) who passed away on November 6, 2025. Also predeceased by his son Alexander and daughter-in-law Lisa.
Norman Leonard Parker's life was one of service, both to his community and family. His commitment to charitable endeavors and fraternal organizations, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his enduring love for his family will be remembered with great respect and admiration.
