Mary Josephine (Turnbull) Radford

June 17, 1924 — February 19, 2019

MITCHELL-RADFORD, Mary Josephine (nee Turnbull)

It is with sad, yet grateful hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, sister, grandma and great grandma who went home to be with her Lord on February 19, 2019 at the age of 94 years.

Mary was predeceased by her husbands Gordon Mitchell (1994) and Harold Radford (2009). She was loving mother to Suzanne (David) Ward of Stirling, Ontario, Glenna, d.2017 (Donald) Russell of Port Sydney, Ontario and Beverly (Larry) Offner of Utterson, Ontario. She was much loved by her 8 grandchildren: Dan Ward, Aaron (Laurie) Russell, Callum (Treena) Russell, Matthew (Miya) Ward, Andrew (Adriana) Ward, Melanie (Dan) Barkwell, Lindsay (Scott) Moore and Carolyn Offner, and 9 great grandchildtren: Mitchell, Madison, Caleb, Sara, Josiah, Ava, Libby, Hannah and Micah. Mary is survived by her sister Muriel Price of North Carolina.

For many years Mary "Mitch" was actively involved in ministry to campers and staff at Camp Mini-Yo-We Girls Camp, Port Sydney, Ontario. She headed the Handcrafts department, lead staff and camper Bible studies and directed the Edgewoods section for 14-16 year olds, leading with a gracious spirit, a love for her Saviour, and a heart for impacting the lives of young women. She was very involved in Christian Women's Club during her years in Toronto. She and her husband Gordon mentored and lead many youth groups, leaving a lasting legacy of faith in Jesus Christ.

Mary was so creative and artistically gifted and could transform any home into a place of beauty - we wondered if their many house moves were a result of mom's need to constantly redecorate! She was an amazing seamstress, and lovingly created and stitched all of her daughter's wedding dresses. She was a homemaker extraordinaire, committing herself to serving her family, and being there for them - always.

Above all, Mary was a women of very great faith and love which she demonstrated to her family and friends every day. She loved Her Lord, and trusted Him faithfully through her life - through great celebrations and deep losses. This is the legacy she has left for us all to follow....
