Marjorie Eva Kane (Sharp)

Born February 12, 1933, in Toronto, Ontario

Died August 5, 2026, in Huntsville, Ontario.

Beloved wife to the late John Gordon Kane.

Loving mother to Lynda Kathleen McLeod and husband Murray Donald McLeod, and grandmother to Laura Kathleen Langer.

Marjorie attended Eastern High School of Commerce in Toronto, later working as a secretary in the financial industry where she met the love of her life John. John and Marjorie were married on August 7, 1954, for almost 70 years. After Lynda was born, she stayed at home being a homemaker. In the 70’s she went back to school to study nursing and graduated as an RNA.

After living in Scarbough Ontario for 16 years, the family moved to Markham Ontario. Later Marjorie and John purchased their dream home in Unionville where they lived for 40 years. After the death of her husband in 2024, Marjorie moved north to Huntsville Ontario to be close to her daughter.

Dogs were always part of Marjorie’s life; Duke the brindle boxer, Casey a grey hound/shepherd rescue, and several labrador retrievers (Murphy, Clancey, Shannon and Abby).

She had several hobbies involving building miniature doll houses and furniture and sewing period costumes for the porcelain dolls that she made. She was a formidable opponent in scrabble and loved doing cross word puzzles. “Peanuts” and “For Better or For Worse” comic strips, and funny stories from Gregory Clarke and Erma Bombeck were always enjoyed while sipping her many cups of Red Rose tea. She was a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and enjoyed watching baseball games both in person and on the television.

Marjorie will be cremated, and as per her wishes there will be no celebration of life. Her ashes will be spread with her husband’s ashes at the cottage, where they enjoyed so much time together.

Donations can be made to Sick Kids Hospital in lieu of flowers.
