Louise Emmaline Richard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Louise Richard on March 18, 2025, at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.

Born in Peterborough, Ontario, Louise lived in several communities before finding her true home in Muskoka. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness that will be forever remembered by all who knew her.

Louise was a devoted mother to her five children: Sammii, Leslie, Mike, Chris, and Courtney, and a proud and loving grandmother to her cherished grandchildren. She was also a loyal and wonderful friend, with best friends Melissa and Danielle, and her dear companion Peter, who held a special place in her heart. Louise’s warmth extended to many others, and she will be deeply missed by her extended family and countless friends.

She now reunites with her beloved spouse Ronnie Mitton and son-in-law Kyle Bergsma (Sammii).

Louise is survived by her brother David Richard, and was predeceased by her parents James Albert Richard and Beverly Gilbert (Culiver), as well as her brothers Paul, Robert, and Matthew.

Louise was known throughout the community as a dedicated crossing guard at Huntsville Public School, where her care and commitment to the children she watched over left a lasting impact.

In her final act of kindness and generosity, Louise became an organ donor—giving the gift of life to others and continuing to make a difference even after her passing. Her selfless decision has already saved lives, a true reflection of the compassion and heart she showed throughout her life.

She was a shining light—a devoted mother, a treasured grandmother, and a true friend. Louise will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the joy of knowing her.
