Lorrice Carruthers

Lorrice Carruthers, 81, of Sprucedale, Ontario passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

Cherished mother of Daloris Grohman and Kenneth Carruthers (Laurie Straub). Treasured grandmother of Kathleen (Wes), Kasey (Katie), Jamey (Jason), and Trevor (Loni). Proud great grandma to Knox, Mackenzie, Maisie, Zev, and Myla. Dear sister of Lauraleigh Brumwell, Lorrin Mayes (Mary), and Laurene Wyenberg.

Predeceased by David, her beloved husband of 52 years (2013), her youngest child, Eric (1997), and son-in-law Walter Grohman (2021).

Lorrice loved snowmobiling and spent many years volunteering with the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs as a Driver Trainer. Over that time, she taught many young teenagers the OFSC Ontario Snowmobile Safety Course. In 2012, the OFSC recognized her with their Driver Trainer of the Year award.

She also enjoyed being a Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary volunteer, especially her time working in the Gift Shop.

Celebration of life and interment is Friday, January 16, 2026, at the Elgin Mills Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill. Visitation 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., funeral service and burial 2:00 – 3:00 p.m., followed by a reception at 3:15 p.m.
