Lawrence John “Jack” Martin

Lawrence John “Jack” Martin passed away peacefully on Friday May 31, 2024 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He was 92 years of age.

Jack was born December 23, 1931 in Ilfracombe, Ontario to William and Islay Martin. Jack remained a lifelong resident of Huntsville. After graduating from Huntsville High School, he spent his career working at Weldwood and continued with the company when it became Tembec. He retired after 37 years in order to care for his parents.

An avid gardener, Jack looked forward to his time outside whether in the vegetable patch or the flower bed.

Predeceased by his sister Edith McComb of Sundridge, and Rodger Martin of Huntsville, Jack is survived by his four nieces: Sharon Mullally of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Heather Degazio of Rochester, Michigan, Ila Snow of Sundridge, Ontario, and Diane Vanden Hoven of London, Ontario.

Interment will take place at a later date at the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Cemetery, Huntsville.
