Kenneth "Ken" Douglas Young, a beloved member of the Huntsville community, peacefully passed away on March 4, 2026, at the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. Born on January 21, 1947, Ken grew up in Huntsville surrounded by his six siblings and the unwavering support of his loving parents, William and Velma Young (nee House).

Ken dedicated thirty years of his life to working at Alcan, where he was known for his hard work and dedication. Following his long career, he embraced a new role as a school bus driver, where he found joy in nurturing and guiding the younger generation until his retirement.

On October 18, 1975, Ken married his cherished wife, Arlene (nee McCue), with whom he built a beautiful life and raised two daughters, Paula (Sean) Clements and Terri Young and her partner Brad MacDonald. Ken’s legacy lives on through his grandchildren—Cheyenne, Sierra (Elias), Natasha (Ryan), Brady, Brooklyn, and Harley—as well as his great-grandchildren, Xaviur, Ella, Ivy, River, Louie, and Meadow. Predeceased by his parents William (Bill) and Velma Young, his sisters Norma and Doreen and his brothers Joe and Mel. He is survived by his sisters Betty and Dorothy.  His family was his pride and joy, and he took great delight in their accomplishments and adventures.

Throughout his life, Ken enjoyed various pastimes that brought him happiness, including fishing, gardening, and reading old Westerns. These interests reflected his love for the outdoors and captivating stories, which he often shared with those around him.

Ken will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind not only his devoted family but also many loving friends and extended relatives. His warm spirit and kind nature left an indelible mark on the lives of those he encountered.

A viewing will be held on March 14, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Billingsley Funeral Home, located at 430 Ravenscliffe Road, Huntsville, ON P1H 1L7.
