O’Connor, Joseph Roger "Joe"
It's with great sadness the family of Joseph R. O’Connor announces his death on September 29, 2023, at the age of 67. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Darlene, son Adam, daughter in law Veronica Tremblay and granddaughter Brooke.
Joe was a hard worker and was always there to lend a helping hand with no hesitation. He enjoyed spending time fishing on their boat with Darlene and his best friend Roger Dunn. Joe and Roger competed in many local pike and bass tournaments. He retired from Panolam Industries after 35 plus years of service. He and Darlene did everything side by side. They started the YBC when the Huntsville bowling alley first opened in 1994 and bowled actively in adult leagues up until 2001. They also worked together to completely renovate their home of 40 years which he was so proud of. When he retired from Panolam he stayed busy doing many wood working projects such as making live edge shelves, cutting boards and driveway lamp posts.
He treasured his family more than anything and will be missed by all who really knew him for the great man he was and will always be in our memories and hearts.
In keeping with Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation at www.huntsvillehospitalfoundation.ca
