Joseph Brian Cox passed away on January 16, 2026, at Huntsville Memorial Hospital with his wife by his side. He was 58 years old.
Joe is lovingly remembered by his wife and life partner Sherri-Lynn (nee Spears) and his children Andrew Cox (Courtney), Jesse Cox and Ashley Cox (Scott), and grandchildren Dominic Ruttan-Cox, Kendra Pallin, Aurora Pallin, Summer Cox and Addyson Pallin. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Pankhurst (nee Cox). Remembered fondly by his brother James Beelik (Laura), and Sister Katherine Beelik.
Joe was born in Scarborough, Ontario where he attended Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute. In 1984, Joe met his wife camping at Arrowhead Park. He dated his wife then chose to move to Huntsville to get married and raise a family. Joe worked for Festing Toyota, Leon's, The Appliance House before his 20+ year career at Infra Pipe manufacturing polyethylene pipe.
Joe was an avid sports fan. He was a dedicated fan for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. He loved his music, especially when it came to AC/DC and other hard rock groups. Joe was a self-taught coin and sports card collector. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage with family. You could find him in the boat cruising the lake or fishing to later return home to build a big campfire for the evening. Joe had a good sense of humour and distinct laugh. He enjoyed teasing the grandchildren and telling them stories.
In keeping with Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the team from Closing The Gap, Doctor Stewart, and HOPE
Huntsville Palliative Care Team for their support throughout this journey. It meant a lot to Joe to remain at home with his family.
