Jean Viola West (nee Rimmington)

Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Fairvern Nursing Home in Huntsville, Ontario in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Ray West who predeceased Jean in 2022. Loving mother of Gloria and her husband Paul Haight, Roger (dec.) and his wife Katherine West. Adored grandmother to Carine (Jamie) Corbeil, Katie Haight (Denver Dick), Alison (Jeremy) Wouda, and Ryan West. Great-grandmother of Tim and Andrew Corbeil, Devin and Austin Dick, Nolan and Mackenzie Wouda, and the late Matthew Duffy.

Jean was born in Brunel Township to parents the late Garnet and Gwenlleon Rimmington and will be remembered by her brothers Ken Rimmington, Stan Rimmington, and Lloyd Rimmington. Jean is predeceased by her sister Gladys Fowler, and brothers Doug Rimmington, and Lionel Rimmington.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Saturday January 24, 2026, at Billingsley Funeral Home Huntsville from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 12:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations can be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation in lieu of flowers.
