Helen Dobesberger, a beloved resident at Muskoka Shores of Gravenhurst, Ontario, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on August 8, 1929, in Parschlug, Austria,

In 1954, Helen immigrated to Canada, following her to be husband, John Dobesberger, who had arrived earlier. They were married shortly after her arrival in 1955 in Toronto, marking the beginning of their enduring partnership. Helen and John settled in Etobicoke, Ontario, where they created a loving home that they shared until 2023, when they moved to Gravenhurst.

Helen dedicated many years of her life to her career, working in a factory installing inner parts of common household electrical appliances. Her hard work and commitment led her to become a supervisor, where she inspired many through her leadership and diligence.

Outside of her professional life, Helen had a rich tapestry of hobbies and interests. She was passionate about travel, making numerous trips to Austria to visit friends and family, alongside journeys to California, Nevada, and Bermuda. Her adventurous spirit extended to her love for nature; she was an avid gardener who took great pleasure in nurturing her many cats over the years. Moreover, Helen enjoyed canoeing and camping across the beautiful provincial parks of Ontario, where she found peace and joy in the great outdoors.

Helen will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, John Dobesberger of Gravenhurst, formerly of Etobicoke, Ontario. She is survived by her cherished family, including her niece Gabrielle Andersen (Bernie) of Huntsville, niece Sylvia Dobesberger (Ain) of Newmarket, nephew Erhard Dobesberger of Ottawa, niece Caroline Sugalski (Mark) of Cleveland, Ohio, and sister-in-law Martha Hruby of Cleveland, Ohio. She is also survived by her great niece Stefanie Andersen of Vaughan and great nephew Kevin Andersen (Allison) of East Gwillimbury, along with extended family both near and far.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka at https://alzheimer.ca/muskoka/en

Helen's legacy of love, resilience, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
