Garry Lovegrove

January 19, 1946 – September 3, 2026

It is with deep love and cherished memories that we celebrate the life of Garry Wayne Lovegrove. A traditional family man, a man of his word, and truly one of a kind, Garry left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A hard worker to his core, Garry spent a lifetime on the road - whether hauling snow and gravel or RV’ing across North America with his beloved wife, Sandra, family, and friends - always behind the wheel of a red truck. He knew every stretch of road across the map, never forgetting a route, a town, or a story along the way. And he made friends anywhere and everywhere he went. As much as he loved the open road, he loved people even more. He lived for gatherings with his brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cherished hunting trips with the boys, and high-spirited (but slow and steady) ATV rides or skidoo runs around Muskoka and beyond.

For Garry, family was everything. He was a steady anchor of strength to his sons Jeff and Tom (dec.) and was deeply devoted to his daughters-in-law, Ragan and Bernadette. Nothing brought him greater pride or joy than his grandsons, Nick (and new grand-daughter-in-law Sam) and Lyle, whose lives were enriched beyond measure by his wisdom, humour, and love.

Garry loved country music, a good joke, and was a man of his word, admittedly stubborn at times. He delighted in pop-in visits and impromptu beers with friends, family, and neighbours. His door was always open. Whether sharing stories at the kitchen-table or gathered under the stars late into the night, Garry was happiest surrounding himself with the people he loved most. Somewhere out there, you can bet he’s still keeping the fire burning, content as ever to be the last one at the campfire.

Garry was the beloved husband of the late Sandra Lovegrove (nee Jeffery). Proud father of Jeff (Ragan) Lovegrove and the late Tom (Bernadette) Lovegrove. Cherished grandfather of Nick (Sam) and Lyle Lovegrove. Loving brother of June (Ken, dec.), Lyle and Gaila (dec.), Don and Gloria (dec.), Murray (dec.) and Lee, Dennis and Bernice, Gerald and Sharon (dec), and Ronnie and Carol (dec.); brother-in-law of Art (dec.) and Marg, Dave and Janet, Tim and Terry (dec.) Jeffery.

Garry will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Sandra, during a family graveside service. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Grandview Golf Club (245 Grandview Dr. N, Huntsville, ON) from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with tributes and words of remembrance beginning at 2:00 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed, and you may register below.
