Florence Mary DiSalvo (nee Olszewski)

Florence Mary DiSalvo (nee Olszewski), a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, in Huntsville, Ontario, at the age of 85. Born on December 24, 1939, in St. Catharines, Ontario, Flo lived a life filled with love, warmth, and cherished memories.

Florence dedicated a significant part of her career to working at an extended care nursing home. Her compassion and commitment to her work allowed her to retire early, but the influence she had on the lives of those she cared for is marked by the kindness and dedication she showed throughout her years in service.

A passionate traveler, Flo enjoyed many adventures across the United States, relishing every opportunity to explore new places. She had a deep appreciation for nature, which was reflected in her love of gardening. Day trips with her family brought her great joy, and she found contentment in simple pleasures such as watching birds and playing bingo.

Flo was a devoted matriarch to her family, leaving behind her cherished children, Linda, Leonard (Amy), and Lance (Heather). She was a proud Baba to Corey, Derek, Cody, and Dayton, and a delighted great-grandmother to Alex. Her family was central to her life, providing countless joyful moments and lasting memories that will forever be treasured.

Florence was preceded in death by her loving husband, Francis Henry DiSalvo, whom she married on December 26, 1959, in Welland, Ontario. The bond they shared during their years together was a testament to the love and companionship they built, a legacy the family continues to honor.

A private family service will be held at a later date, as an affirmation of Florence's wishes. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. Florence Mary DiSalvo touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly by all who knew her for her caring heart and indomitable spirit.  As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
