Elizabeth “Beth” LeMay

Fondly known as “Mom” or “Grandma” to many — and simply Beth to everyone else — she passed away peacefully on October 16th at the age of 91.

Beth was born in 1934 and raised on a farmstead in Newholme, one of 12 children in a bustling, hardworking family. She learned early on how to pull her weight — and probably everyone else’s too.

In 1955, she married Walter LeMay, and together they raised two daughters, Diane and Gwen. Beth balanced motherhood with tireless homemaking and was never one to shy away from hard work. Even after Walter’s passing at the age of 73, she remained strong and steadfast, continuing to thrive and dedicate her life to Jehovah. She served as a faithful pioneer for Jehovah right up until the very end.

Beth is lovingly survived by her daughter Gwen (Allen), her son Dustyn, and son-in-law Tim (husband of Diane, who preceded her in death). She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Caleb (Michelle), along with their children Justice (Max), Coel (Kaela), and great-grandchild Kason; and grandson Nathan (Tanya), with their children Kenan, Ella, and Theodore.

She is also survived by her brother Gordon (Betty) and her sister Heather (the late Tom), as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were like family.

Beth was loved and cherished by all who knew her — family, friends, and her congregation. Her songs from years gone by, quirky poems, and endless stories brought smiles and laughter to every gathering. She had a knack for making people laugh — whether she meant to or not — and was rarely found without a plan, a visitor, or a plan to meet friends or family!

She never liked to sit still, never missed a gathering, and always needed to have places and things to do.

A memorial service will be held on Friday October 24th at 3pm at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 433 Muskoka Road #3 North, Huntsville. Food and Drinks will be provided after. Everyone is welcome.
