Obituary

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Douglas (Doug) Clifford Brown, who left us peacefully on July 1, 2026, in Huntsville, Ontario. Born on January 6, 1954, in Toronto, Ontario, Doug’s life spanned decades rich with love, creativity, and connection.

Doug is survived by his loving wife Barbara; his sons, Matthew Brown (Samantha), and Jeffrey Brown (Stephanie); and his grandson, Riley Brown. He was the brother of Beverley Virtue, Paul Brown (Cindy), and Angela Brown (Karl), and uncle to Terry, Brent, Brandon and Jacob.

An enduring passion for music defined Doug from an early age. Fondly remembered are the times when he would bring out his guitar and play for those around him. Doug’s spirit thrived not only in music but also in his love of motorcycles and technology, always eager to share new discoveries or stories from the open road.

Four years ago, Doug returned to his roots, retiring to the Huntsville community. In these final years, he found happiness, enveloped daily by the affection of family and friends. His move from Port Perry marked a new chapter brimming with togetherness, peace, and reflection.

Doug’s memory will be honoured at a Celebration of Life on July 18, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 232, located at 21 Veterans Way, Huntsville, ON. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to Hospice Huntsville

As we gather to pay tribute to Doug, we remember a man who shared his talents and love freely, who inspired those around him, and whose presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of music, kindness, and the enduring bonds of family—a life truly well-lived.
