Following a lengthy illness, Doreen Marion Bochsler, 91, of Huntsville, Ontario, passed away peacefully on August, 2026, at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born on September 22nd, 1934, in Huntsville Ontario, Doreen Bochsler was the beloved wife of Tom Bochsler. Doreen and Tom celebrated their 70th anniversary in October 2025. Doreen spent her life caring for her family and always thinking of others before herself. She loved gardening, flowers, wildlife and her favourite season Autumn. She also enjoyed sewing and was a member of various women's groups, volunteered with various organizations and even joined a downhill ski club in her younger days.
Doreen and Tom travelled to many places in Canada, the US and abroad including Europe, Australia, China, Great Britain and will be remembered for her warmth and kindness, a true and cherished lifelong friend to many.
Doreen is survived by her loving husband Tom, and 5 children - Bernadette, Cindy (Don), Jean-Pierre (Debbi), Peter and Marianne (Paul), and 9 grandchildren Brandon, Caitlin, Cassie, Rachel, Jesse, Jeremy, Daniel, Lucas and Graeme and 11 great grandchildren Evelyn, Charlie, Willow, Oliver, Hali, Quinn, Bridget, Tyson, Gordon, Casey, Brooks.
One of Doreen’s favourite songs (and sayings) “Que sera, sera! Whatever will be, will be." And "I guess it was meant to be.”
A private family service will be held in the near future.
Donations to the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary or Hospice Huntsville are greatly appreciated.
