With heavy hearts the family of Donald Charles Boucher announces his passing during the early hours of September 20, 2025 one day before his 95th birthday. Dad was the loving husband of Marjorie (Payne) (2020) for 70 years.
Dad is survived by his children Nancy, Rick (Kate), Sandra (Bob). Papa will be forever missed by his grandchildren Erin (David), Scott (Cori), Rebecca (Helen), Alison (Glen), Colin (Sarah), Bob (Sherry), Stacey (John), Mandy (Pascal). Big Papa shared a special bond of love with his great grandchildren Sawyer, Eloise, Maple, Trystin, Makayla, Lily, Leo, Sarah and Echo.
Dad was preceded in death by his brothers Robert (Jean), Austin (Marion) and Leslie “Bud” (Jean). Left to mourn his passing are many nieces and nephews.
Dad will also be missed by members of the Payne family including his remaining sisters-in-law Marjorie and Barbara Payne and many nieces and nephews.
Dad spent his working years with the Department of Highways building roads throughout Ontario. His happy place was in Algonquin Park on a lake with a fishing pole in his hand. Dad and Mom were lucky to be able to travel south for many years in their trailer exploring parks and meeting friends. Dad’s later years were shared with visits from his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He loved to hear about the adventures they had all experienced and thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between them. Papa had a special connection with each grandchild and great grandchild that will be carried in their hearts forever.
Many thanks to all the medical professionals for their exceptional care of Dad over the past years. Special thanks to the Palliative Team for their respectful care of Dad.
A celebration of life will be held for Mom and Dad on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Canada Summit Centre, 20 Park Dr. Huntsville. 1-3 pm
