Dennis "Denny" Delray Young

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis "Denny" Young on September 12, 2026, in Huntsville, at the age of Ninety. Denny was a man of his word who lived a profoundly honest life. He was fiercely protective of his family, his friends, and his teammates, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, loyalty, and quiet strength.

Denny was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying snowmobiling, ATV rides, fishing, and hunting as a long-time member of the Twin Lakes Hunt Club of Millar Hill. His passion for community extended to the rink, where he was a dedicated player in competitive community hockey. Later with the Huntsville Oldtimers hockey team he travelled to the Netherlands where they won the 1976 World Championship. Eventually he transitioned to team management for the Huntsville Goodtymers.

Denny retired from his role of Purchasing Supervisor with the Ministry of Transportation in 1992 after 37 years having worked his way up from stock clerk.

Above all his hobbies and achievements. Denny's greatest joy was his family. He was an incredibly proud grandfather and great-grandfather who anchored his family with his protective nature and unwavering love.

Denny is survived by his loving sons, Barry Young (Tracey) and Jason Young. He was the cherished grandfather of Rachel Pelletier (Tom), Chelsey Young, Riley Young, Allison Young, and Declan Young, and the proud great-grandfather of Andrew Pelletier. He will be dearly missed by his sister, Judy Wagner, his cousin, Wayne Cooper, and a wide circle of extended family and close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Road, Huntsville.
