Catherine Louise Prosser (nee Cripps)

Cathy (Catherine) Louise Prosser (née Cripps) passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026, at Huntsville Hospital, at the age of 64. Born on September 27, 1961, in Huntsville, Ontario, Cathy lived her life rooted in the community she loved and the family who meant everything to her.

Cathy was married to the love of her life, William Prosser, who predeceased her on March 10, 2025. Their bond was deep, steady, and enduring—a partnership that shaped her life and her heart.

She leaves behind her daughters, Catherine, Sara, Tara, Stacy and Genise, along with her adoring grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and joy. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings. Cathy was predeceased by her husband, her son, her parents, and many siblings she carried close to her heart.

Cathy was the cornerstone of her family—the one with the open arms, the gentle advice, the kind words, and the ability to listen without judgment. If you needed comfort, reassurance, or just someone to sit with you, Cathy was there. Always.

She took pride in her work, most often in housekeeping, where her strong work ethic and attention to detail shone through. But her most important roles were being a devoted mother and a fiercely loving Nana—titles she wore with immense pride.

Cathy had a sense of humour that could catch you off guard and make you laugh when you least expected it, especially if you were quick enough to play along with her. She loved a good bargain, a great sale, and anything crafty. Her creativity extended beyond her hands and into her words—Cathy was an avid writer, filling countless journals with her thoughts. Few people knew that she also had a beautiful gift for poetry, especially when writing about something she cared deeply about.

Above all else, Cathy believed in being a good person. She treated everyone with kindness, respect, and compassion, and she took genuine pride in living that way. Her legacy is one of love, humility, laughter, and quiet strength.

A funeral service will be held at Billingsley Funeral Home in Huntsville, Ontario, on January 25, 2026. Viewing will take place at 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m., with a reception to follow downstairs. The service will be officiated by Evelyn Coker.

In memory of Cathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Cathy will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Her words, her laughter, and her love will live on in all of us.
