Beverly (MacLean) Silvester

SILVESTER, Beverly Ann (nee MacLean) Following a courageous battle with cancer, Bev passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord at Algonquin Grace Hospice in Huntsville on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 in her 77th year. She was the loving wife of Rev. Stuart Silvester for almost 58 years and faithful mother of Lois Fitter (Bruce), Dale Heywood (Todd) and Faye McKenzie (Ken). Bev deeply loved her 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and is survived by her brother Keith MacLean. Born in Montreal in 1941, Bev attended London Teacher's college and also graduated with her B/A from Wilfrid Laurier in Waterloo. She taught school in Toronto and was a Librarian/Teacher in Bramalea and Bolton and taught ESL as well. Bev was a faithful pastor's wife and impacted hundreds of lives by her love, faith, prayers and hospitality. Following retirement, Bev served on the Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary, the Muskoka Seniors and the Algonquin Theater. She was also a member of the Huntsville Racqueteers, enjoyed golf and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Huntsville. In Florida, Bev enjoyed biking, running, tennis as well as leading ladies bible studies and ministering to those in need. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Road, Huntsville from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Bev Silvester's Celebration of Life and tribute to her Lord will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Huntsville on Wednesday, June 27th. followed by a reception at the Church. The interment will be held at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery in Huntsville. The family would like to thank the palliative care workers, Dr. Gerry Forestell, the Nurses of Huntsville Hospital and the compassionate care of the staff of Algonquin Grace Hospice.
