Raymond Albert Vowels "Ray" died peacefully surrounded by family on March 10, 2023. Ray would be been entering his 83rd year. Ray was born in Parry Sound and is predeceased by his father Raymond Vowels, and mother Annie Vowels (nee Raymond) and survived by his sister Doris Jutras (nee Vowels). Ray was a devoted and loving husband and father and is survived by his wife Ruth Vowels (nee MacDonald), father to Raymond (Vicki), Brad (Molly), Ken (Jen), Keven (Roxane). Grandfather to Raymond Lee, Tracy, Randy, Lisa, Morgan, Kennedy, Branden and Matt. Ray was also a Step Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
Ray grew up on the family farm in Parry Sound. He fondly reminisced of the farm and his time there with his family, farming, hunting and fishing adventures. After marrying his one true love Ruth and moving to Huntsville Ray started his business "Ray Vowels Carpentry Huntsville". Ray enjoyed his years building houses. Ray along with his wife, raised their family and he talked often of the endless hockey games, travel, living by the lake; boating and waterskiing and being with family. In his more recent years Ray lived a quiet life and enjoyed summers riding his all-terrain buggy, meticulously taking care of the lawn on his riding lawnmower, gardening, fixing things, playing Carrom and Crokinole, keeping up on his family history, having calls and visits from friends and family, being on his computer and helping with endless projects with his son and daughter in law.
The family would like to thank Rena his home care provider, and Hospice Huntsville for their kindness, compassion and professionalism during this difficult time. It was Ray's wishes not to have a funeral. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Huntsville would be greatly appreciated.
